LBUSD 2020 Conference Week has ended
Our team has worked hard behind the scenes to bring you meaningful virtual professional learning opportunities during the week of August 10-13.  You will need to create a Sched account if you don’t already have one.

New sessions will be added later this week, so be sure to check back for updates and update your registration accordingly.

A few things to note:
  • These sessions are optional, but certificated employees will be paid at the hourly non-instructional rate of pay for attendance.  Growth points will not be provided.
  • You have the option to pick and choose sessions and days; you do not need to attend all sessions each day.
  • You can filter sessions by audience
  • Some sessions, such as the OG Refresher or Thinking Maps Follow Up, have a deadline to register.
  • Most sessions do not have capacity limits.  Those that do will maintain a waitlist, so please be sure to update your registration if you don’t plan to attend to allow someone else to register.
Please reach out to any member of the Instructional Services or Technology team with any questions.

Race, Ethnicity, and Indigeneity in Classroom Instruction (Ethnic Studies)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
In this session, participants define race, ethnicity, and indigeneity, and discuss the ways that our understanding of racial constructs and culture has implications on classroom practices and student outcomes. Through Ethnic Studies, teachers develop curricula and classroom experiences that are culturally responsive, relevant, and sustaining. By the end of the session, teachers identify ways that they can infuse Ethnic Studies content, lenses, or practices into their classroom.
